Once I get warmed up on a short run, there's no holding back. It's probably because I just want to get the short ones over with ASAP and I figure I won't be running hard for too long, so what's the harm? And I feel like race pacing for a 5K should be hard-hard-hard anyway. So this afternoon I did 3.6 over a neighborhood 5K course in 31:32 (8:45 pace), in beautiful Memorial Day weather.
Happy holiday to my blog readers!

I'm the SAME way! It's funny but the other day I had an hour run planned, and my initial thought was "Ok, how fast can I run this hour?" duuuuuhhhhh.
