Recovery Walk

2.0 miles of easy to brisk walking on the treadmill helped loosen up the left calf pretty well, and it just put me over 100 miles for the month, 300 for the year - woo-hoo! The giant bag of Biofreeze samples ("minis"?) the chiropractor's office gave me don't hurt, either. I'm a little worried about some lingering pain in the left ankle, which I've had before. I probably just need to strengthen the ankles using the lateral flexion/extension exercises and the dusty thera-band I got from PT.

On a Birthday Challenge note, my friend Sherry recommended that I not try to do the 37 miles all in one day. Maybe she's right, I don't know. What do you think? Can a guy who's running 30 miles a week now do 37 in a day two months out? Remember, I can walk if I have to; the only race is with the clock.

I looked at your B Fit page - I guess you're going to run the full 37 instead of the Swim, Bike, Run - is that right? If so, then I agree with your friend Sherry - I wouldn't try to do that all in one day.
